CHICAGO, Thursday, April 27, 2017 – Kenway Consulting announced today its Jog for Dogs 5K run, 2 mile walk benefitting ALIVE Rescue, a Chicago-based animal rescue that saves, rehabilitates and places abandoned, abused and stray animals.
The dog-friendly fundraising event will take place Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., rain or shine, at Ned Brown Forest Preserve in Elk Grove Village, IL. Both the run and walk will start at Grove 4 in Busse Woods and take participants through its scenic forest preserve trails.
“I first became involved with ALIVE Rescue as a dog walker volunteer, and ended up adopting the first dog I ever walked. I quickly realized how special ALIVE Rescue is and how important it is to have a rescue and safe haven for animals in our community,” said Brian King, Kenway president and CEO. “We’re excited to organize this run/walk to benefit our friends there, and help spread their message and mission.”
ALIVE Rescue believes every animal has the right to a well-balanced, socialized and fulfilled life, and provides medical, behavioral and physical support for animals despite their age, health and/or breed. The organization promotes sustainable living and care-giving within communities by building awareness, appreciation and respect for all animals and the environment.
The Jog for Dogs tax-deductible registration fee is $35 for all participants, and includes a T-shirt and post-race food and beverages. Registration is available online at www.ticketbase.com/events/jog-for-dogs.
